AV technology pioneer Peerless-AV announced its new, outdoor Smart City Kiosk.

A modern, approachable and practical digital signage solution, the Smart City Kiosk combines functionality and aesthetics, and can endure the rigours of everyday use when unattended.  Four models are available in the new Smart City Kiosk line – 49" or 55" with Peerless-AV’s Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Display included (KOP2549-XHB-EUK, KOP2555-XHB-EUK), or as a kiosk enclosure only, designed for 46" or 55" Samsung OHF Displays (KOP2546-OHF-EUK, KOP2555-OHF-EUK). The new all-weather rated solution is ideal for sharing corporate or community information, travel and weather details, as well as wayfinding, advertising, entertainment and more.

The included Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Display, in the KOP25%%-XHB-EUK models, is IP68 rated with the widest operating temperature range in the industry (-35°C to 60°C). The fully-sealed display eliminates the need for air conditioning or fans for cooling, making it a maintenance free solution. It also has full HD 1080p resolution for a bright crisp picture, even in direct sunlight.

Steel mesh on the rear panel of the Smart City Kiosk enclosure assists Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Displays with passive cooling and allows Samsung OHF Displays to exhaust hot air and intake cool air. The Kiosk’s storage area is tested to IP56 standards to prevent the ingress of dust and water and is protected with filters and cooling fans to keep outdoor rated, high-temperature components at their ambient operating temperature. Interactivity can be added to all four models with an optional plug & play, 10-point IR touch overlay, also tested to IP65 standards to protect against water and dust.

The Smart City Kiosk features a curved, elegant, minimalistic design, and seamlessly blends into any urban setting. It can also withstand winds up to 140 mph. The pedestals mount to concrete or an optional base plate (ACCK204) can be added. Cables are protected within the raceways of each pedestal. Installation is easy, without the need for cranes or forklifts, and access to the rear of the display, via a tubular key cam lock on the Kiosk’s rear panel, provides security while allowing convenient servicing and maintenance.

The Smart City Kiosk’s standard design makes it easy to transport and deploy, for 24/7 unattended operation, in a wide range of outdoor applications such as corporate, digital signage, retail, hospitality, sports venues, amusement parks, transportation, government, university settings and more. It is available in matte black or silver, but custom colours, branding and logo options are offered to meet personalisation requirements.
