WOOLRICH — Following a pursuit, Zachariah James Baney was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and driving while license was suspended-DUI related.

The arrest occurred on June 28 after Baney, no address listed, and broke into an occupied home, attempted to enter multiple vehicles.

According to a report filed by Pine Creek Township police, on June 28 Baney was observed driving a light green Ford Focus in the 2200 block of Woodward Avenue.

Baney was seen stopping the car, getting out and taking his shirt off while running around several houses, police said.

Baney then entered a residence which was occupied by the owner who was in her upstairs office doing a work call, police said.

The owner heard her doors being opened and closed in her residence and called for assistance. When she went downstairs she found her cupboard doors were open, her refrigerator and stove were open and dresser drawers were pulled out.

“Baney fled the residence prior to the police arriving and was seen driving towards Lock Haven on state Route 150,” police reported.

A neighbor told police Baney ran to their house after leaving the first one and had a bottle of BBQ sauce that he stole from the home.

A few minutes later, Baney was seen in Lock Haven as he attempted to get into several vehicles before returning to his own, police said.

Baney traveled onto state Route 220 south where the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department observed him. Police attempted to pull him over but Baney continued driving until coming to a dead end road in Lamar Township, police said.

Baney was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Keith Kibler. Bail was set at $100,000 with a preliminary hearing scheduled for a later date, police said.
