LOCK HAVEN — Angel Light luminaries will shine in Triangle Park on Sunday, Sept. 11, our National Day of Remembrance.

This year marks 21 years since the terrorist attacks. More than two decades later, many remember feeling fear, even terror, on that day. Angel Lights are a warm and peaceful way to honor special people in our lives while remembering a day that the nation will never forget.

Angel Lights are offered by the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven. Everyone may sponsor one or more for a donation of $5 each.

Each Angel Light is a votive candle weighted inside a white bag. Sponsors may personalize and decorate their luminary with the name of the person or group they wish to honor.

The Rotarians then set up and light the luminaries the evening of Sept. 11 in Triangle Park, where the lights shine together as a display of respect for patriots, heroes, teachers, mentors, friends, relatives, anyone who needs their spirit lifted for any reason.

The luminaries are available at The Bus Stops Here store, at 115 E. Main St., Lock Haven. You may make your donation and personalize your bag there any time the store is open, before Saturday, Sept. 10. If you wish, you may take your bag home to decorate and return later.

Rotarians will also have the bags available during the Jaycees Labor Day Regatta. Look for them in the arts and crafts section.

You may also send your money and order to Downtown Lock Haven Rotary, P.O. Box 634, Lock Haven PA 17745.

Angel Lights proceeds are given back to the community. This past Rotary year, the Downtown Rotary Club was able to give $2,000 to local good causes, thanks to the community’s support of club projects like this one.
