Glen Carbon Police reported more burglaries and a vehicle theft over the weekend.

This time, the incidents happened in the Spring Valley Subdivision between Glen Crossing Road and Interstate 270.

A Jeep was stolen, along with the owner's keys and wallet, while three other vehicles in the neighborhood were reportedly gone through.

Police said the biggest item taken was pocket change. All four vehicles were unlocked.

This is the second weekend in a row where unlocked vehicles were either entered illegally and items taken and one was stolen. Police in Glen Carbon and Edwardsville routinely remind residents to lock their car doors, refrain from leaving keys or key fobs in vehicles, and to stow valuables at home, not in the cabin, cargo area or trunk. This includes weapons and ammunition.

Residents with garages should keep garage doors locked, as well as the vehicle locked, and remember to lock the door leading into the house. In some previous cases, garage door openers were left in vehicles that were unlocked.
