In The Long Drop, you need to take a keycard off a dead body. It's more complicated than it sounds.

It's worth doing the treasure hunts in Far Cry 6 as not only are they fun, but they also offer good rewards. In the case of The Long Drop, you acquire a decent shotgun. Yet, as with all of the hunts, you can't just go to the location and pick the weapon up. After all, that wouldn't be much of a hunt.

Before you can get close to the gun, you have to find the key that opens the storage room. And getting hold of the key requires you messing with the dam. To know exactly what to do, follow this guide.

The treasure hunt is in the La Joya region of El Este. More specifically, it's on the southwest part of it. When you get there, go to the storeroom and pick up the note in the orange box next to the door. It gives you a bit of information about the place, including the fact that the storeroom contains military supplies and you need a key to get inside.

Turn around and walk up the small stairs behind you - not the ladder - to get onto the dam. Walk across it to find a broken section where a man may still be hanging off it. You can't save him as he falls no matter what, as does the key he's holding.

Your instinct might be to use the grapple nearby to lower yourself down and pick up the key. If so, you've got the right idea, but you can't do it yet. First, you have to stop the water by closing the sluice gate. The controls of which are in the aptly named control room.

Continue over to the other side of the dam to find the control room. Follow the path around and go through the gate to reach the door to the building. The front door will be locked, but you can go to the window next to it and shoot the lock off the back door.

Then climb up to the roof by getting close to it, looking up, and hitting the 'climb' prompt. Drop down to the other side of the building, where there is a walkway. From there, you can enter the building from the back door - watch out for the camera inside the front entrance.

While in the control room, your goal is to open the sluice gate. To do that, you must activate the machines in the correct order. Enter the control room's office area to find the cheat sheet for the order laid on the main console. Follow this sequence:

Hit the button that's right of the front door, which is on a yellow panel next to a calendar.

Next, find the button in the middle of the room. It has a green and red light underneath.

Now, find the valve on the east wall and turn it.

Finally, enter the office area and press the button on the main console. Doing all this causes the sluice gate to open.

With the sluice gate open, return to where the worker fell earlier. Use the grapple to lower yourself to where his body has ended up, and hold the prompted button to pick up the key.

Finally, you can make your way back to the storeroom and collect your rewards. Said reward for this one is the Excavation Execution shotgun.
